Post Date:10/11/2024 2:29 PM

MELBOURNE, FL (October 11, 2024) – Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) has opened and resumed commercial passenger service as of 9:00 AM today, October 11, following the impacts of Hurricane Milton. Despite sustaining some damage to the terminal, airport staff and contractors responded swiftly to facilitate a timely reopening. The airfield was unaffected by the storm.

“It is due to the preparation before Hurricane Milton and the quick response during and after the storm by airport staff that MLB was able to open as planned,” said Executive Director Greg Donovan. “My heartfelt thanks go out to the prep, ride-out, and recovery crews who worked tirelessly around the clock.”

While MLB has returned to normal operations, passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines for the latest flight status updates.
