MLB’s U.S. Customs Federal Inspection Station is currently undergoing a major expansion as part of the airport’s Terminal Renovation & Expansion Project to accommodate TUI’s multiple daily flights from the U.K. starting March 2022.
Arriving international general aviation flights cannot be processed during scheduled international air carrier operations, including one hour prior to the operation and two hours after. MLB’s live flight schedules can be found here.
Overflight Permits
For most general aviation, overflight permits are required for travel to MLB from most foreign airports south of the U.S., including those in the Bahamas. Contact the CBP office for more information, including how to obtain a permit. Pilots/Operators must coordinate their estimated arrival time directly with CBP in Melbourne. As a user fee/landing rights port, requests should be initiated with as much lead time as possible to discuss requirements and ensure availability. Weekend arrivals must be coordinated with the Melbourne CBP office before 4 p.m. the Friday prior.
CBP at MLB can be contacted at 321-674-5796 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
