10/27/2015  |  Melbourne, FL

Starting at $149 Each Way, Elite Offers Affordable Vacation Options to the Orlando and Cocoa Beach Areas, and for Cruise Passengers Departing from Port Canaveral

PORTLAND, ME – October 27, 2015 – Elite Airways LLC today announced that tickets for non-stop flights between Portland International Jetport (PWM) and the Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) are now available at: www.eliteairways.com. Scheduled service will begin on December 18, 2015 on Fridays and Mondays into the Orlando Melbourne International Airport, which serves Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, and world-class Orlando theme-parks and attractions.

Fares start at $149 each way and include the first checked bag for free, no change fees to re-book a later fight, plus complimentary on-board beverages and snacks. Elite Airways is also pet-friendly. Northbound flights leaving Orlando Melbourne International will depart at 10:00 a.m. and arrive in Portland at 1:00 p.m. Southbound flights leaving Portland will depart at 2:00 p.m. and arrive at Orlando Melbourne at 5:00 p.m. ET.

This new service route is part of Elite Airways’ expansion plans to provide high-quality, “Elite Class” jet service between Florida and the Northeast. Earlier this month, the company announced non-stop service between New York City/Newark (EWR) and the Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB), home to millions of seasonal visitors each winter.

“As a Maine-based business, we appreciate that winters can be long and cold—so this new leisure traveler route makes it convenient and affordable for a family vacation to Orlando, Cocoa Beach, or a cruise out of Port Canaveral,” said John Pearsall, President of Elite Airways. “We believe there is solid demand for non-stop service between Maine and Florida, and we thank the airport teams at the Portland Jetport and Orlando Melbourne International for their support and cooperation.”

Portland International Jetport

As Maine’s largest airport, the Portland Jetport is surprisingly compact and close to town. It occupies less than 1,000 acres and is just five miles from the heart of downtown Portland. A comfortable scale, unmatched convenience, and the addition of several new airlines have made PWM one of the fastest-growing airports in New England over the past three years. “We value Elite Airways’ presence at the Portland Jetport, and are thrilled to add service to the Orlando, Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach areas,” said Portland Jetport Director, Paul Bradbury. “Florida is our largest under-served market from Portland. Elite Airways gives travelers even more vacation options with non-stop flights to MLB just in time for the upcoming holidays and winter break.”

Orlando Melbourne International Airport

Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) is the closest airport to the world’s top cruise port and 72 miles of pristine Florida beaches. An hour from Orlando’s theme parks, Kennedy Space Center and other world-class attractions, Orlando Melbourne International is just 10 minutes from beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees and breathtaking sunrises over the Atlantic. Fast gaining popularity as the distinctive uncrowded alternative gateway to Florida vacations, MLB features service via Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Porter Airlines, and Elite Airways.

MLB is proud to serve as the base of Elite Airways’ maintenance operations, as well as its charter sales and marketing. Capable of processing 400 passengers per hour in its full-service customs facility, Orlando Melbourne International is home to the world headquarters of Harris Corporation, Northrop Grumman, Embraer, Rockwell Collins, General Dynamics, L3 and Thales Group. For more information, visit: www.mlbair.com.

“Providing nonstop air service to Florida’s beaches and theme parks has long been a priority to meet the leisure travel demands of the Portland-Boston travel corridor. Florida’s lobster lovers and lighthouse fans will surely take advantage of this concierge air service to the Portland Jetport.  Whether you are seeking to go home to New England for the holidays, or looking for a stress-free way to come to Florida, Elite Airways is meeting this need,” said Greg Donovan, AAE, executive director of Orlando Melbourne International Airport.
