For more than 80 years, Melbourne International Airport has played an important role in the region's growth, with its leaders committed to strong community involvement. That means participating in a variety of public events and important civic organizations and supporting community groups that help make the Space Coast a great place to live and work.
MLB is a proud member of the Economic Development Commission of Florida's Space Coast, Florida's Space Coast Office of Tourism and eight chambers of commerce: Melbourne Regional, Cocoa Beach, Titusville, Florida Puerto Rican, Palm Bay, Sebastian, Indian River and St. Lucie.
As an active community partner, the airport sponsors numerous activities, including the Sea Turtle Preservation Society's Turtle Krawl and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Brevard. MLB also is venue for events such as the Brevard Cultural Alliance’s annual art appraisal and live art auction and the American Cancer Society's Melbourne
Relay for Life. The works of local artists also are displayed throughout the airport in conjunction with the Brevard Cultural Alliance.
